Branch Manager - Upington

An opportunity exists at GRS – Upington for an Internal Sales Representative with the following requirements

 Main purpose of the job


The purpose of the job role is to grow the customer base and increase market share. The incumbent will also provide support to the External Sales Representative, convert inquiries into Sales by answering inbound telephone calls. Promote and sell Global Roofing Solutions world class products with excellent customer service.

Qualifications and Experience required

  • Matric Certificate 

  • Diploma or Degree in Sales and Marketing or equivalent 

  • Computer Literacy is essential (MS Office) 

  • Minimum 5 years Sales Rep/Technical sales experience is essential 

  • Syspro experience is preferred 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Must be able to actively negotiate and communicate with all customers 

  • Sound knowledge of South African roof sheeting industry is preferred 

  • Sound knowledge of Market Pricing advantageous 

  • A good understanding off the Building industry will be an advantage 

  • Must be able to work under pressure

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure increased customer awareness and maintain/increase market share 

  • Ensure optimal growth by providing excellent customer service and after service 

  • Assist External Sales Representatives with distribution of credit applications, quotations and administration 

  • Capture Sales orders 

  • Follow-up of progress on orders 

  • Assist with Telesales 

  • Meet and improve annual budgets – inherent requirement 

  • Client queries are responded to timeously. 

  • Deliveries are followed up on whenever necessary. 

  • Written (typed) quotations are provided to customers. 

  • Check material availability when quoting 

  • Assist to maintain customer pricelists and customer data base 

  • Assist with credit applications and rep reports for the debtors department 

  • Assist with the resolution of customer complaints, requirements and progress reports 

  • Analyse customer feedback and service satisfaction and escalate for corrective measures 

  • Assist customer with technical info, brochure and installation procedures 

  • General admin / perform own filing 

  • Assist with additional tasks as requested by management from time to time 

  • Contribute to GRS Brand Awareness 

  • Uphold the company’s code of ethics 

  • Ensure excellent customer service to clients
